Lost Star has New Sense of Direction

By Maria Lewis

After launching her overseas career by starring in hilt TV programs Lost and Cold Feet, Gold Coast actress Kimberley Joseph was back on home soil yesterday ahead of the opening of the Nifsan Gold Coast Film Fantastic tomorrow night. Now Based in Los Angeles, Joseph arrived fresh off the plane and straight into promotional cuties at the Sheraton Mirage as she prepares to launch her directorial debut, The Polygon. Her 13-minute short film will premiere before the opening night feature on Thursday at Australia Fair’s Birch, Carroll & Coyle cinemas and Joseph said she could not be ‘more proud’ to launch the film in her home town. “I spent many years living on the Gold Coast. In fact, my family is still based here, so I could not be more proud than to have the Australian premiere of The Polygon at the 2009 Gold Coast Film Festival,” she said. “It’s our hope that once we have completed the feature length documentary we will again have the opportunity to premiere the film here on Queensland’s silver strip.”
